Next Independence-Class Littoral Ship To Be Named Cincinnati, Says Mabus

Navy Secretary Ray Mabus has officially announced the name of the next Independence-class littoral combat ship (LCS), reports the Dept. of Defense.
LCS-20 will be named Cincinnati, the secretary said on Sunday.
The fifth vessel in naval history to carry that name, the Cincinnati will be built to the Austal USA aluminum-hull design in Mobile, Ala. The littoral ship will be the 10th in that design.
