Next Commander Tapped For U.S. Air Forces Africa

The Dept. of Defense has announced that Brig. Gen. Margaret Woodward will be the next commander of 17th Air Force and U.S. Air Forces Africa, reports the Stars and Stripes.
Currently vice commander of 18th Air Forces, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Woodward replaces Maj. Gen. Ronald Ladnier, who is retiring. She will become the second head of the command since it was reactivated in October 2008 as the air component of U.S. Africa Command.
