The Indian government has made the ceremonial beginning of a new naval warship research center in the southern state of Kerala, Agence France-Presse reports.
The defense minister laid the foundation stone on Tuesday.
The National Institute for Research and Development in Shipbuilding (NIRDESH) will be built at a cost of 6 billion rupees ($133 million), said Defense Minister A.K. Antony.
