New Upgrade For U.S. Navy's Deep-Diving Drone

Phoenix International Holdings, a marine services company, says it recently completed modernizing the U.S. Navy's deep-diving drone.
The work included installing a new umbilical, sonar, high-definition camera, LED lighting system, updated frame and a new foam pack for the Deep Drone remotely operated vehicle, according to a company release on Tuesday.
The company, based in Largo, Md., also installed a new programmable logic controller (PLC)-based vehicle-control system.
