The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it plans to deploy a domestically manufactured Iranian drone capable of carrying out airstrikes within a year, Agence France-Presse reports.
IRGC Brig. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh indicated that the drone would be operational in the second half of the current Iranian year, which ends on March 20, 2011.
Mass production of the new UAV, called Pahpod, would soon take place, said the general, as cited by the semi-official Fars news...
