The head of United Nations peacekeeping operations has just established a task force after a probe found that the mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) failed to protect civilians during a wave of violence in Juba, the capital, in July, reports the U.N. News Service.
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has already approved the recommendations assigned to the new task force, Herve Ladsous, the undersecretary-general for U.N. peacekeeping operations, said on Thursday.
