New System Provides Army Troops Easier Access To UAV Imagery

The U.S. Army is preparing to field a new system in Afghanistan that will allow troops to request video feeds from a range of aircraft, reports Aviation Week & Space Technology.

The Heterogeneous Airborne Reconnaissance Team (HART) system, which was developed by Northrop Grumman for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, enables users to request stored imagery or call for aircraft sensors to collect new, real-time video.
