The European Union has placed fresh sanctions on Syrian companies and leaders, reports the Wall Street Journal.
On Monday, foreign ministers from the E.U. also authorized an accord adopted last week to ban insurance and reinsurance of arms shipments to Syria. The E.U. instituted an arms embargo last year.
The latest measures involve a travel ban and asset freeze on six companies and one person, said an E.U. statement cited by AFP.
