New SAM Systems Join Air Force

The French procurement agency DGA has delivered two more surface-to-air missile systems to the French air force, reports defense-aerospace.com.
The SAMP/T (sol-air de moyenne portee terrestre, or medium-range surface-to air systems, ground-based) systems were handed over in March and May, respectively, bringing the air force's inventory to five, according to a DGA release.
France has ordered 10 of the systems, which utilize the Aster 30 missile. Italy has ordered five.
