An Estonian member of the European Parliament (MEP) has proposed the creation of a dedicated post on the European Commission for defense and security to ease the burden on the current foreign policy chief, reports the E.U. Observer.
Federica Mogherini is overstretched with too many portfolios, Urmas Paet, an Estonian liberal MEP, told reporters in Brussels on Wednesday. She is responsible for foreign policy, defense, various conflicts and security, he said.
