The Russian Defense Ministry plans to build several new radar stations to counter possible missile threats, RIA Novosti reports.
The new stations will replace current systems, said Space Forces commander Lt. Gen. Oleg Ostapenko.
The general said a Voronezh-DM radar station in the Armavir region will be activated to help close a gap in coverage on Russia's western borders that opened after radar sites were closed in Skrunda, Latvia, and in Mukachevo and Sevastopol in Ukraine. ...
