New Radar Contemplated For Zumwalt-Class Destroyers

The Dept. of Defense will eliminate much of a new radar system for its newest class of destroyers and delay delivery of the ship by a year in an effort to integrate a more advanced radar system, reports the Navy Times.
The Pentagon just decided to remove the SPY-4 volume search radar from the dual-band radar (DBR) set to be integrated with Zumwalt-class destroyers, and to push back the vessel's service introduction from 2015 to 2016.
