New Navy Chief Pledges To Boost Training

The new Philippine navy chief has begun his duties after a change-of-command ceremony at the service headquarters in Manila, reports the Philippine Star.

Rear Adm. Alexander Pama this week replaced Rear Adm. Danilo Cortez, who has reached the mandatory retirement age of 56.

Pama has served as navy vice commander, navy inspector general and the head of Naval Forces Western Mindanao. He has also commanded six different vessels.
