New Naval Radar Being Developed With U.S.

Japan and the U.S. are collaborating on the development of a new radar for warships currently equipped with the Aegis system, reports the Kyodo news agency.
The new radar will provide 360 degrees of coverage and is expected to be able to combat the latest weapons, including hypersonic missiles, officials said.
Planning for the project has entered its final phase, unnamed diplomatic sources said on Sunday.
