New Naval Exercises With U.S. To Start Monday

U.S. and South Korean naval forces plan to hold anti-submarine exercises next week off the west coast of South Korea, Deutsche Presse-Agentur reports.
The drills are "designed to send a clear message of deterrence to North Korea," said United States Forces-Korea on Friday.
The maneuvers take place next Monday through Friday, said officials. They were originally scheduled for earlier this month, but were delayed by a typhoon.
