The Virginia-class attack submarine New Mexico has reached its new homeport at Naval Submarine Base New London, Conn., the Navy Times reports.
The boat has joined Submarine Squadron 4 and the crew will undergo further training, said Navy officials.
The New Mexico was commissioned March 27 at Naval Station Norfolk, and delivered in December 2009.
While that date was four months ahead of schedule, it was later than initially estimated. Workmanship problems in the weapons room...
