South Korea plans to develop an anti-drone system by to counter North Korean spy aircraft, reports Reuters.
Seoul has allocated US$74 million to develop the system to detect and destroy drones by 2023, according to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
The Block I variant will be capable of tracking and destroying small drones and aircraft with a fiber-optic laser at close range.
