New Ka-226 Utility Helicopters Likely To Be Used By Border Service

The Russian Defense Ministry has announced it will buy six Kamov Ka-226 light multi-role helicopters in 2011, Interfax-AVN reports.
The aircraft will be built at the Kumertau aviation plant, a ministry official said.
These aircraft will have Rolls-Royce engines, although future procurements will be equipped with French Arrius-2G engines, he said.
The helicopters may be placed on patrol ships of the Federal Border Service.
