New Global Strike Weapon Being Developed

The United States is developing technology that could lead to the deployment of a conventional weapon that is strong and accurate enough that some say it could reduce the need for a nuclear arsenal, the New York Times reports.

Officials maintain that the Prompt Global Strike weapon would, in theory, fire a conventional warhead of enormous weight at high speed and with pinpoint accuracy, generating the localized destructive power of a nuclear warhead.
