Defense Minister Peter Gajdos says Slovakia will delay a planned fighter jet purchase for a broader upgrade of the military, reports Reuters.
Slovakia has been in talks with several companies to replace its aging Russian-made MiG-29s. Firms include Lockheed Martin for its F-16s and Saab for Gripens. A decision was expected by the end of the month.
Gajdos said Wednesday that the fighter decision would be delayed to focus on ground forces.
