U.S. Army officials say the service will begin evaluating its new jungle uniform in Hawaii starting in January 2018, reports Military.com.
The Improved Hot Weather Combat Uniform (IHWCU) was created under a requirement to develop a jungle uniform optimized for operations in the Pacific region.
The Army has already fielded new jungle combat boots to the 2nd and 3rd Brigade Combat Teams of the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii.
