New Destroyers To Build Up Fleet

The South Korean navy has decided to build six "mini-Aegis" destroyers between 2019 and 2026 to strenthen coastal and blue-water operations, reports the Korea Times.
The 5,600-ton KDX-IIA warships will be equipped with an Aegis radar and close-in weapon systems as a core part of the navy's strategic mobile fleet led by the 7,600-ton Se Jong Daewan-class destroyers, according to the navy.
