New Destroyer Joins The Navy

The U.S. Navy scheduled the commissioning of its latest Arleigh Burke-class destroyer for Oct. 10 in Philadelphia, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The Wayne E. Meyer (DDG-108) is named after the Navy rear admiral who led the development of the Aegis combat system.
The destroyer is the 58th ship in the Arleigh Burke class.
