New Destroyer To Be Named Lyndon B. Johnson

The U.S. Navy has announced the name for its third and last Zumwalt-class destroyer, reports the Dept. of Defense.

The destroyer will be named Lyndon B. Johnson after the 36th president.

Construction began on the ship less than two weeks ago at Bath Iron Works in Maine.

The ship is tentatively scheduled to be delivered in 2018, and will cost at least $3.8 billion, reported the San Diego Union-Tribune.
