The Indian government has indicated it will step up efforts into the fight against Maoist insurgents in the eastern part of the country, United Press International reports.
Around 400 police stations in the so-called Red Corridor -- the states of Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Jharkhand and West Bengal -- will be upgraded or rebuilt, government officials said.
