New Defense Estimates Reveal Even Larger Shortfall

The U.K. Ministry of Defense may incur another round of cuts after estimates revealed the department to be at least 10 billion pounds (US$16 billion) short of requirements for the coming years, reports London's Daily Telegraph.
Ministry officials told the paper that the current plans to cut the 33.8-billion-pound budget by 8 percent over four years will not be enough to balance the budget.
