President Roza Otunbayeva has abolished Kyrgyzstan's Security Council and replaced it with a Defense Council, reports Interfax-AVN (Russia).
The president's decree creating the new body was issued Wednesday with immediate effect, according to a presidential spokesman.
The new council, led by the president, includes the prime minister, parliamentary chairman and all of the top security and law enforcement officials.
