New Defense Chief Assumes Duties

Lt. Gen. Epaphras Denga Ndaitwah has become the fourth chief of the Namibian Defense Force, reports the New Era (Windhoek).

Ndaitwah replaces Lt. Gen. Martin Shalli, who was suddenly dismissed from the post last week.

The new defense leader has served as the chief of staff operations: plans and training and deputy army commander. From 2008 to 2010, he was the charge d'affaires to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
