Iran—New Commander Appointed To Lead IRGC Intel Body

The head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has named a new commander for its intelligence organization, reports Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency (Tehran).
On Thursday, the IRGC announced that Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami had appointed Gen. Mohammad Kazemi to lead IRGC intelligence.
He succeeds Hojjatoleslam Hossein Taeb, a cleric who had held the post since the intelligence organization was established in 2009.
Salami appointed Taeb as one of his advisers.
