New Coastal Surveillance System Will Be Able To Detect, Identify Ships 60 Miles Away

Croatia has selected Saab to supply a coastal surveillance and border protection system, reports the Swedish defense firm.

The system will provide real-time data from advanced radars, long-range and thermal closed-circuit TV cameras and the Automatic Identification System (AIS) used by ships at sea, according to a Saab release on Wednesday.

The sensors will be deployed at strategic locations along the coast and connected to several control centers, said company officials. ...
