New Coast Watch Center Seen Improving Maritime Security

A new National Coast Watch Center (NCWS) designed by U.S. defense firm Raytheon has opened in the Philippines.
The NCWC will improve the Philippine maritime forces' ability "to detect, prevent and deter threats and security risks across its territorial waters," according to a statement on Monday from the Massachusetts-based company.
