The Canadian coast guard's newest fisheries and oceanographic research vessel has arrived at its homeport of St. John's, Newfoundland, reports the Telegram (St. John's).
CCGS Vladykov, which is replacing the CCGS Shamook, will operate in the waters off Newfoundland and Labrador, according to a government release. Vladykov arrived in St. John's on Friday.
The ship is also capable of search-and-rescue and pollution response missions.
