New Amphibious Ship Ends Sea Trials

Shipbuilder Navantia recently completed sea trials for the Spanish navy's new amphibious warship, reports the Spanish company.
The trials of the Juan Carlos I (L-61) evaluated the performance of onboard systems and equipment, including the propulsion plant, company officials said.
The 26,000-ton vessel demonstrated excellent seakeeping and turning capability, due to its podded propulsion system, said the shipbuilder.
