Poland is setting up a volunteer territorial defense force that should be ready for action by 2019, reports Deutsche Welle.
The 53,000-man force is expected to cost 800 million euros (US$868 million), Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz told the TVN24 news channel on Monday.
"These units are the cheapest way to increase the strength of the armed forces and the defense capabilities of the country," the minister said. "It is also the best response to the dangers of a hybrid war...
