Negotiations With Russia For Fighter Jets In Advanced Stage

Turkish defense officials say talks with Russia for a potential acquisition of Su-35 fighter jets have reached an "advanced stage," reports Defense News. 

A deal for about 48 jets, or two squadrons, could be finalized soon, said an unnamed Turkish official. 

Analysts predicted the final deal would price the aircraft between US$50 million and US$70 million each. 

The purchase would be off the shelf, said government officials.
