The U.S. Navy is testing an augmented reality (AR) helmet designed for sailors manning guns, reports Defense One.
The GunnAR augmented-reality headset was the brainchild of a junior officer aboard the guided-missile destroyer Gridley. The idea was presented at last year's Office of Naval Research (ONR) Innovation Jam, where it received first prize and $100,000 for development.
