The Egyptian navy has a new corvette from France.
French shipbuilder Naval Group last week announced the delivery to Egypt of the first of four Gowind 2500-type corvettes.
The Elfateh was handed over on Sept. 22 in Lorient in northwestern France, the company said in a release.
The delivery came just 36 months after the order was place. The Elfateh was scheduled to set sail for its homeport in Egypt on Sept. 23.
The ship displaces 2,600 tons and has a top speed of 25...
