Chinese marines have been holding military exercises using live ammunition in the South China Sea, Agence France-Presse reports.
Officials said at least 100 warships, submarines and aircraft were used in Tuesday's exercises. The drills included amphibious combat, said state media.
More than 200 military students from 40 countries and regions attended the drills as observers, according to the Communist Party paper Global Times.
