Navy Ships Will Keep Patrolling Off Syrian Coast

Russian Defense Ministry officials say the government has decided to keep warships patrolling off the coast of Syria on a permanent basis, reports RIA Novosti.
The Kashin-class guided-missile destroyer Smetlivvy is currently deployed in the Mediterranean near Syria, and another Black Sea Fleet ship will replace her in May, said a ministry source.
The deployment of a fleet task force to the region has not been ruled out, said the source.
