Navy To Shift More Assets To Pacific, Says Panetta

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has fleshed out details on U.S. plans to focus more of its attention on the Asia-Pacific region, reports American Forces Press Service.

The U.S. government will seek to expand military-to-military relationships in the region, beyond its treaty allies, which include Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, South Korea and Thailand, Panetta said in a speech Saturday at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.
