The U.S. Navy has chosen the first group of enlisted female sailors to serve in the submarine fleet, reports USNI News.
Four chief petty officers and 34 petty officers were selected from a pool of applicants, the Navy said on Monday.
After medical screening, they will be trained. This will include attending Basic Enlisted Submarine School in Groton, Conn., and technical training at various schools. The sailors will then report to the Ohio-class guided missile submarine...
