The South Korean navy has taken delivery of a new frigate, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
Delivered on Wednesday, the Gwangju will be deployed in March 2017 after five months of operational sea trials, said the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
She is the sixth and last ship of the first batch of Incheon-class frigates. The second batch will have eight frigates; a third batch is also in the works.
