Navy Orders 5 Osprey Tiltrotors

The Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Bell Boeing a contract modification for five V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The $366 million deal covers the production and delivery of three CMV-22B variants for the Navy and two MV-22B variants for the Marine Corps, said a Pentagon release on Dec. 28.
The Navy CMV-22B aircraft are intended to replace its aging C-2 Greyhound aircraft for the carrier onboard delivery mission.
