Navy Orders 10 More MQ-8C Unmanned Helicopters; Contract Worth $108 Million

The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Northrop Grumman, San Diego, Calif., a contract for the latest version of the Fire Scout unmanned helicopter, reports the U.S. Dept. of Defense.
The $108 million deal, announced by the Pentagon on Sept. 9, covers 10 MQ-8C unmanned aircraft. The MQ-8C uses the larger Bell 407 airframe.
The original MQ-8B Fire Scout uses the Schweizer 333 airframe.
Work under the contract is scheduled to be completed in August 2019.
