Navy Officers' Quarters Destroyed In Lagos Fire

Two buildings housing senior Nigerian navy officers in Lagos have suffered considerable damage from a fire on Wednesday, reports the Vanguard (Lagos).

The buildings burned for several hours before firefighters arrived, officials said.

Witnesses said the fire began in one of the buildings, possibly due to an electrical fault, and then spread to the other.

Navy personnel in the area fought the flames until firefighters arrived.
