Navy Issues Rules For Littoral Ship Competition

The Navy has released the final terms in a competition to build 10 littoral combat ships (LCS) over the next five years, officially opening the latest round of bidding, the Navy Times reports.
The request for proposals was not released to the public immediately, but bids from Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics are reportedly due by March 29, a defense industry source said.
Each company has already built one LCS and is working on another.
