Navy Inactivates Dallas Sub; 36 Years Of Service Included Starring Movie Role

The U.S. Navy has inactivated the nuclear-powered attack submarine Dallas (SSN 700) after 36 years of service, reports the Navy NewsStand.

An inactivation ceremony was held on Dec. 5 at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor, Wash.

The sub will be officially decommissioned in April 2018 in the controlled industrial area at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Wash., said the service.
