Austal USA laid the keel for its 10th littoral combat ship for the U.S. Navy earlier this month, reports the Navy NewsStand.
The keel-laying and authentication ceremony for the Cincinnati (LCS-20) was held on April 10 at Austal USA's shipyard in Mobile, Ala., the Navy noted in a Monday release.
The milestone marks the joining of the ship's components and ceremonial beginning of the ship, the service said.
