Navy Hires Saab To Upgrade Frigate Combat Systems

The Thai navy has awarded Sweden's Saab a contract to modernize combat systems aboard two frigates, reports the defense firm.

The US$72.8 million contract covers the installation of the latest 9LV Mk 4 combat management and CEROS 200 fire-control systems aboard two Naresuan-class frigates.

Under the deal, Saab will also provide data link equipment to enable communication between the ships and Thailand's Gripen fighters and Saab 340 Erieye airborne warning and control system...
