The Iranian navy says it prevented two pirate attacks on a domestic cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden, reports the Iran's semi-official Fars news agency.
Pirates approached the Iranian cargo ship Thursday morning with five speedboats. They were driven off by Iranian navy vessels from the 34th Flotilla, according to Iran's Press TV.
The would-be hijackers returned later that day with six more speedboat and again fled after encountering the navy, according to the service.
